In the New Testament Jesus is known by several names and titles. Examples include Christ/Messiah, Son of God, Savior, and Son of Man. In this two-part series we will examine various Scriptures that present Jesus as God’s definitive revelation to the world through his roles as Prophet, Priest and King.

Each of these is rooted in the unfolding drama of redemption portrayed in the Old Testament and each is taken up by various New Testament writers to show how Jesus is the fulfillment of the hopes of Israel and the one through whom God will redeem the world.
John Andrew (Andy) Dearman is an ordained teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church and senior professor of Old Testament at Fuller Seminary.

Dearman has written several books, including Reading Hebrew Bible Narratives (2019), Hosea (NICOT, 2010), & Jeremiah and Lamentations (NIV Application Commentary series, 2002).
